Our Annual Junior Metro Golf Tournament
Inspired by the beloved “City Junior,” a tournament hosted for decades in South Bend but discontinued in 2006, our Junior Metro was launched in 2020. The event offers children ages 6 to 16, who live in the Greater South Bend area, a tournament opportunity at historic Studebaker Golf Course (Est. 1919).
Our tournament philosophy is to offer a first-class competition, while focusing on providing an educational and enjoyable environment for all junior golfers competing and their families.
This is a free event (no entry fee), in the spirit of our “Kids Play Free” program at Studebaker!
Registration (link below) typically opens in mid to late June, for the late July tournament.
Pairings are assigned and typically available online two days before the event begins, with email notifications to parents.

Age Divisions
Boys and Girls compete together in all 12 & under play
- 6-8 years old: 9-hole event / Typically on a Tuesday, the opening day of the tournament
- 9-10 years old: 18-hole event / 9 holes played on both Tuesday and Wednesday
- 11-12 years old: 18-hole event / 9 holes played on both Tuesday and Wednesday
Boys and Girls have separate competitions in both the 13-14 and 15-16 age divisions
- 13-14 years old: 36-hole event / 18 holes played on both Wednesday and Thursday
- 15-16 years old: 36-hole event / 18 holes played on Wednesday and Thursday
